Mike is a versatile and seasoned software executive with more than 18 years of senior engineering experience in both startup companies and mature enterprises.  He is a senior manager with Microsoft Services HQ where he helps define, develop, and deploy tools, processes, and methodologies for solutions delivery for Microsoft Consulting and Support Services.  Prior to working with Microsoft Services HQ, Mike was a senior program manager with Microsoft Consulting Services where he managed a diverse portfolio of high-profile application development and infrastructure engagements for various clients in entrepreneurial and regulated environments.  Prior to joining Microsoft, Mike held Vice President of Engineering and Development positions and provided technical leadership for all aspects of software development and service delivery for in-house, offshore, and outsourced engineering teams in fast-paced dynamic environments.

Mike is the founder of North Star Analytics (NSA), a side venture that builds artificial intelligence-based software based on his doctoral research.  NSA provides services based on the Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF), which Mike authored the authoritative book defining the fundamentals underpinning MSF: Microsoft Solutions Framework Essentials: Building Success Technology Solutions (Microsoft Press, 2006).  He likes architecting and putting in place development methodologies, processes and procedures, systems, and schedules that ensure delivery of a consistent stream of predictable, right-quality, innovative, commercially viable products and services to market on time and within budget.

Lauren is focused on work-based learning, self-directed learning and meaningful work, specifically the intersection of these disciplines as they relate to a construct for meaningful work.  She has 10 years of organizational development experience introducing corporate management development programs and providing organizational consulting.

Lauren is also on the faculty at Northeastern University in the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Professional and Continuing Studies.  Her current teaching focuses on leadership studies.  Lauren also facilitates in the Vogt Leadership Program with The Boston Consortium for Higher Education.
